The aim of the project is to raise awareness on adults with autism and Asperger syndrome and to improve the services provided to adults with autism and Asperger syndrome.

The specific objectives of the project are:
* To improve the knowledge of the staff working directly with persons with autism and Asperger Syndrome
* To diversify the services provided for adults with autism and Asperger Syndrome
* To raise the awareness on the issue of autism, which was mostly hidden so far in Romania
* To raise awareness on the right to have access to universities for people with developmental disabilities.

The target groups are:
* Professionals in the disability field
* Adults with autism and Asperger syndrome
* Policy makers, universities staff & students, general public

In order to achieve the objectives we will organize the following activities:
• A training session for 25 participants lead by trainers from Great Britain
• Edit and publish an information material, which will be distributed in the country at the end of the training.
• An awareness raising campaign “Open the gates” addressed to the policy makers and to those in the universities environment. We will work with our partner – Teleuniversitatea – a TV station who's target audience is the students and professors.
• Pentru Voi Gala with the main topic of “Universities and developmental disabilities”.

The project is financed by Open Society Mental Health Initiative Budapest.
