2010 - 2011

Foundation “Pentru Voi” launches a new project which will run from April 1, 2010 to February 1, 2011, through the financial support of CEE Trust, in partnership with the Center for Legal Resources and the Institute for Public Policy Romania.

This project aims to contribute proactively to improve the quality of life for adults with intellectual disabilities in Romania, by raising awareness of human rights under the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, particularly regarding the legal capacity, competence and employment.

The project objectives

1. Comprehensive national assessment of the current situation of persons with mental disabilities in Romania, who are under guardianship.

2. Comprehensive national assessment of the current employment of people with mental disabilities in Romania.

3. Promotion through appropriate mechanisms for guardianship reform in Romania.

4. Awareness of art. 12 of the UN Convention on legal capacity.

5. Lobby to change the Labour Code, reagrding the right to employment of people with intellectual disabilities.
